Excel file for Computing Property (land) Area, and Drawing the Map

Several years ago, I started to track down all the properties of my mother in the province... All I needed are the coordinates, which usually can be found either in the TCT or in Lot Data from the Bureau of Lands... 

Being on the 'road' I do not have the time nor the equipment to draw the property limits, so I had to make an excel file capable of such... using Mathematics, I was able to make a program... below is an example of an unknown lot, but with coordinates, I was able to draw its shape and compute for the land area...


All I have to do now is look for it within the area... and in this case, it was pretty easy to find it!

Malaysian Automotive Industry Design-an-Automobile Contest (1995)

In July 1995, there was this Malaysian Automotive Industry Exhibit here in Manila, and there was this contest about the topic " Design-an-Automobile "... Proton, the Malaysian car manufacturer, was one of the sponsors, and in this contest, one of their main criteria was the car has to be manufaturable, in line with the company's capability...  At the time I was working at the local vehicle manufacturer/assembler of Hino Motors, which is a subsidiadiary of Toyota Motors in Japan. For my entry, I designed some sports sedan, a "budget" BMW if you will... It did't win, but my entry did make the mall display as one of the finalist, and below was my "prize", a certificate (shown below)...  I wanted to retrieve my drawings, but was not allowed... so unfortunately, I cannot show here how my car design looks like...  strangely, the winning entry was an  exotic  car, one that would be called " hypercar " these days...

Modular Biogas Lamp

This was my first recorded invention, way back in 2nd year High School, the year 1983 It works this way... Biogas, in this case in the form of decomposed animal waste, is kept in what used to be a can of powdered milk (Birch Tree), for around 6 weeks. Once fermented, now in gaseous form, the biogas is released through a gate valve... at the other end of the gate valve is a used brake fluid can (Prestone). Once the biogas is released the lamp can be lit on that end Even back in those days, biogas isn't new... but the key in this invention was there can be constant supply of biogas.  In our province, there were several biogas lamps, but those have the biogas directly on the lamp itself... in this invention, the user can store as many biogas as he can, and use the new ones once the gas has been used up - keep in mind, it takes 6 weeks or 42 days, about a month and a half, for the biogas to fully ferment. Pneumatic Anthropomorphic Robot Arm

During my College days at De La Salle Unviersity, our thesis was called a Pneumatic Anthropomorphic Robot Arm.  By the name it is diven by Pneumatic (Air) power, and Anthropomorphic because it has a "human-like" characteristic.  It is an early (late 1980s) robot arm, and to think 35 years later, it is still quite 'relevant'.  Below images were from a 3D model I rendered as years later I became a Design Engineer by profession... There are 4 Pneumatic cylinders in all, the 4th one being underneath the Base... that one is controller the end effector or the "hand" of the robot arm... Having 4 pneumatic cylinders allow it to have 4 degrees of freedom.  A 5th movement, to allow the arm to rotate on its base, was originally planned but the cost of building it was getting too much for us College students...
